What do you notice when you look at a person?

Their eyes. The way they laugh. Their face when they're angry. The way they speak to restaurant staff. A lot of little things. But I try not to mistake noticing those things for fully understanding someone. I'm 38 and I still don't completely understand myself. So it would be strange to decide too quickly that I know exactly who another person is. I do think that the more honestly I face myself, the more I notice other people's pain, weakness, and kindness. That's how it feels to me.
