Are success and happiness only outcomes?

I don't think they're only outcomes. I don't think suffering itself is noble either. If I can avoid suffering, great. Haha. But happiness and success don't seem to live only at one final destination. Life doesn't suddenly say, “Okay, everything is finished. Happiness begins here.” I want to be able to notice happiness while I'm still on the road, especially when I'm walking it with someone important to me.
